This is for all you ladies out there who have girls. You need to have the alpha talk with them. Let me give you some background. Maddi is in school with some very STRONG natured girls. I call them Alpha dogs. Maddi has a strong personality, but I wouldn't call her an alpha. However, sometimes she gets a little pissy, and tries to stand her ground with the alphas. Now, I have told her that if she wants to be FRIENDS with the alphas she has to just go along with them...unless of course they are doing something illegal, immoral, or just plain stupid. Don't follow stupid. One of the alphas recently said some pretty mean things about Maddi because Maddi took a math test prior to her, and she wanted to know what was on the exam. Well Maddi, being the good follower of my alpha rules, wouldn't tell her. Immoral, right? One of the non following alpha rules. Well, that sparked an uproar in the alpha community. Maddi has been pretty upset about the whole thing, but I told her it will pass. THEN we had Open House last night...and we walk into a class, and here is cheating alpha with her alpha mom. I said hello to the mom, where she in turn, flared her nostrils, and did the nod. Not an actual word came outta her mouth...just a nod. Hmmmmm......Not hard to see where alpha brat came from. Now, I normally wouldn't say I am an alpha. Depends on the day. Or situation. But, with my kids I am ALPHA QUEEN. So I sized up the situation. Me and my granny panties and sweats could EASILY take on thong wearing, Seven jean strutting Alpha mom. No contest. But was it worth it for me to get in a confrontation with her about her cheating daughter???? No. So, I displayed great character and walked away. And told Maddi never to play with that alpha brat again.
However...I did tell her that some alpha dogs are totally worth the friendship because they can make you try new things and are generally fun to be around. It is so hard for girls. Girls can be so mean. So you if you are the alpha mom I saw at Open House last night just thought you should know that your kid tried to cheat. Take that.
