Well...we are home. We had a fabulous time...lots of stories to share. Been up now almost 19 hours so I will catch up with you Internet friends tomorrow. Hugs til then!
Hope everyone had an enjoyable Easter Sunday.
Last night we were all in bed by 10ish Florida time, 7 CA time...we woke up at 830 am Florida time. We all slept almost 11 hours. We immediately did an egg hunt in our room. Carolyne, who is in our room, said "THANK you sooo much Florida Easter Bunny!" So stinking cute.
After that we went to Animal Kingdom. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. We got back to the hotel in the afternoon, where the kids enjoyed the pool. At 6 we checked C and E into the kids' club, and we took S and M out to dinner. So nice to have just the teens. We strolled the Boardwalk, and even got ice cream afterwards.
Thank you SO much for SOOO many of you texting, emailing, and leaving blog messages offering to help us with the whole Disney paperwork issue. The great news is, that I printed up a TON of stuff prior to leaving from my online check in, and supposedly that saved our tushes.
In any event, we are having a blast, and are looking forward to tomorrow. We are heading out to Epcot, and then tomorrow night D and I are getting massages.
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday with your loved ones...I would show you photos, but I am unable to load the photos for some reason. Night!
It is 645 CA time, and we are going to bed. :) Quick update:
Woke up at 5 am to get ready to leave the Doubletree hotel for airport
Made it to LAX by 7 am.
All seven kids were amazing...no crying, no whining, no fussing. I truly was happily surprised. Emily only started getting restless the last 20 minutes. :)
Had a WONDERFUL flight until the last half hour. That is when it got a bit bumpy....and that is also when I realized that I had left behind ALL documents for my family of six for the Disney Land and Sea package back at the hotel at LAX. Panic starts to set in, as I look at my family of 13 and wonder how I am going to break this news.
My dad and sister were AMAZING. They calmed me down, and said there is no way I could be the first person in Disney history to lose documents. Yeah family!
Got off plane and boarded shuttle.
Rooms are great...and from our balcony we could see an amazing fireworks display.
Kids are exhausted, so we are going to bed....
Getting up early to go to Animal Kingdom. Have a wonderful Easter Sunday!
I am ready. I am ready to get to Florida. I am SUPER tired of worrying about if I forgot something, or why the terror alert has been bumped to red. (this according to my mom)
Tonight we are staying at a hotel near LAX to make it easier to get the six of us to the airport for the early morning flight. A couple weeks ago we were sent home a notice from Connor's school that he would have a field trip on this very day. After reading it, I told Dale that in NO WAY would I be getting on a bus with a bunch of kindergartners less than 24 hours before I was to board a plane. Think Germs. Lots of little kids with lots of runny noses and lots of untied shoes. I wanted to clean the house for our house sitters instead...so Dale said he would GLADLY go. So, off he went. Of course, I couldn't send the poor guy off without putting in my two cents. I needed a ton-o-photos of this field trip for the yearbook. He was going to have to be the photographer in my place.
Now we are just waiting for the two older girls to get out of school, and we are outta here!
Out of all my kids, Stephanie is by far the easiest child. Even as a baby and toddler, she was a pleaser. She has always been the one who has wanted the most lovin'.
Steph is also the one that I am fiercely protective of. She remembers the divorce, how her father moved in and out five times, the crying, the drama of it all. I wasn't great back then at hiding my emotions. While I rarely even tear up today, I was easily set to tears back then. Maddi was too young to remember anything, which is a blessing.
Whenever Stephanie gets into any kind of trouble, she somehow miraculously gets herself out of it. Dale says he is amazed at how she does it...very manipulative. I don't like to use that word, as I say she just knows how to work me. When in deep she apologizes, offers to babysit, clean the house, run errands, etc... Pretty soon I am over whatever I was upset about, and life is happy again.
The last couple days have been pretty tense between Steph and I. I am frustrated with the bathing suit issue, and the fact that she is spending every spare minute with her boyfriend rather than pack. Not one thing has entered into her suitcase, making me, the controlling mom, fretful.
However, in Stephanie style, she tries to make it better....
Early this morning she sends me a text from school. "Got my SAT test scores."
I KNEW what she was doing...yet, how could I ignore the text when we have all been waiting??? SO, I texted back "AND?"
Let's just say for about ten minutes I forgot all about the butt cheek/Victoria Secret bathing suit problem. I couldn't have been prouder. Then, reality set in, and I remembered that no matter how great at school AND TEST TAKING she is, I still don't want to see her tush. (because there are genius's out there who are MISERABLE at test taking. I have taught some myself!)
She WILL be returning the bathing suit. And, I WILL be hugging her tightly tonight and telling her I couldn't be prouder.
I am starting to panic just a bit about this trip. Connor, Emily and I are packed. Dale, Stephanie, and Maddi are not.
Remember the other day when all six of us went to the mall, and Maddi picked out only three items? Well, during that same shopping excursion Stephanie was to purchase a bathing suit. She called me 10 minutes prior to our meeting time, and asked me to come to Victoria Secret to look at what she had chosen. I informed the lovely child that I had NO time to do that, as I was still waiting to be checked out where I was shopping. I told her I trusted her judgment, and to pick the one that looks best on her.
The other day I remembered about the bathing suit, and asked the dear child to put it on for me. Let's just say that EMILY'S rump would fit into the bottom portion. Half of Steph's butt is exposed for the little children of Disney World, and the Disney cruise to see. I told her right then and there that she was to drive back to the mall and exchange it.
Let's just say that she has yet to return it...all I know is that she will NOT be wearing it. I was truly that horrified.
For some craft fun, I decided to do a portion of my online class. We were to write things about ourselves that are TRUE RIGHT NOW. So, here it goes.
These Things Are True

Okay off to continue on my packing/ cleaning duty.
I need to add impatient to that list above. Also, at this moment, irritable.
GREAT news today though...got my power cord in the mail, so computer will be joining me on the trip...AND, HH is taking me to Yard House tomorrow night. SO yummy. I also have a neat-o website for you dieters out there. www.healthydiningfinder.com
You input your zip code, and it spits out the restaurants that have lower calorie food items. Yard House is on there. Yeah Me! Also, Survivor is on tonight instead of tomorrow. DOUBLE YEAHHHHH!
Off to bathe kiddos. :) ENJOY your night!
Can I even begin to tell you how much I love sleep? I went to bed at 8:40 after tucking in C and E, and woke up at 6:30. I love it when I catch up on ZZZ's. The only down side to falling asleep early, is coming downstairs to see your family room and kitchen still a mess from the previous nights St. Patty's Day Bash. Serious BOOO.
Now, for what I promised yesterday. I made WW's Classic Shepherd's Pie. To check it out, click HERE. The only thing different I did to the recipe, besides turning the mashed potatoes green, is I added garlic, Lawry's Seasoning Salt, and Pepper. It was delicious! Even Steph's boyfriend, who dislikes veggie's ate it. It is either that or he was trying to stay in my good graces.
Which leads me to the next thing I promised. His text to me.
Friday night was Sadie's....and I knew the dance ended at 11. I had told Steph she could stay out a little while after...so around 11:15 I texted both her and her beau "Whatcha guys doing? Better not be somewhere where there is alcohol." I waited about ten minutes, and when I didn't get a response from either of them I texted this "DON"T EVEN THINK ABOUT IGNORING ME." A little psycho? Maybe. But, she is my baby. And, I am controlling. Put those two together, and I become a mad woman. A few minutes after my last text, I get this text from David. "Sorry. Didn't see the text. And by drinking....it is ONLY Propel. I don't drink...at least not yet...Your daughter is safe with me." Well, at least THIS boy has some brains.
As for Disney World/Cruise news...I am packing/cleaning/getting ready/shopping like a mad dog. THREE DAYS until we leave! I am having a house sitter for my animals, so I have to leave my house clean too! Bummer. My power cord to my laptop busted, and I am hoping to receive the new one prior to leaving so I can blog while away. :)
Off to get Connor ready for a dentist appt. ENJOY the day!
We are soooooooo not Irish, but if you know me, I can't let a holiday or event pass me by without participating.
You really can't tell, but under that white chocolate glaze is a VERY green bundt cake!
In addition, I also purchased goodies for all the kids to wear to school at Target and Party America. I didn't get a photo (yet) of Steph as she left for school at 6:15, and well, let's just say that the leprechauns hadn't woken me up yet. I did get the other three lil stinker's though!
I would LOVE to know WHO in tarnation taught that little stinker to put two fingers up behind someone's head. I was cracking up!
I have a special surprise dinner for the kids tonight. Will post later! :)
Now...this looks gross, but it was awesome. It was a WW dinner... SO yummy. I will share the recipe tomorrow. The green glop on top is mashed potatoes. I knew I wouldn't have time today to make it, so I made it yesterday. SO yucky looking, but SO good.
The cute young man next to Steph is her boyfriend...such a NICE KID. Besides the recipe, I will share a text he sent me on Friday night.
Hope you had a GREAT St. Patrick's Day! Until tomorrow...
Well, it is official. It has taken me 10 weeks and 6 days to lose 20 pounds. I so wish I had started earlier, so that I could be at the 25 pound mark. Oh well...
I am a bit stressed with counting points today, as I am taking a friend to dinner HERE for her birthday. It is my alllll time favorite restaurant, and since she has never been, I wanted to surprise her. Maybe I will eat an apple today so that I can enjoy my evening!
The other day while at the gym, I whipped it out and started reading it. GOOD book. I love how the author has different fonts for the different characters.
In other news, I am cracking that whip and making Dale plant in our backyard. We are hosting his brother's 40th birthday party in three weeks...and I want it PRETTY. :)
Toodles for now.
