a birthday...and a new family member

Hello there!!!

Just got home a few hours ago from almost a week at the river. I have a TON-O-PHOTOS to share, but am honestly too tired to download them all tonight.

However, I did want to share with you two things. Number one, Connor turned seven yesterday!!!

Number two....our new family member, Lucy.

She was starving...sooo, soooo sad! We bought a collar, bathed her, and took her in.

She had recently had puppies, which we never found, and she never lead us to them. The vet said it was obvious they hadn't made it or she would have gone back to them after being fed.

last Balboa photos...

Here are my last few photos from our week on Balboa Island.

Yesterday we went over to the pier to watch the waves off of Newport. Then, Dale and I rode bikes to the Wedge where all the news media vans were parked. Unfortunately, we didn't get any great photos of the amazing waves. EVERYONE and their mother were there to see the HUGE waves.

I didn't have the camera on the right setting...way too bright, but I love this pic of Stephanie with my mom and dad.

While checking out the waves I ran into my friend, Lori, and her family.

This was at the Wedge. This isn't a great photo...but I am sure you watched the news to see enough of them anyway.

Going to miss that cooler weather on the coast....

Relaxing...

We are all having a VERY relaxing trip...no drama, minimal fighting among my children, sleeping in, and enjoying the cooler sea breezes. I have even stayed up til 1 the last three evenings reading. SO NICE.

Here are the most recent photos. I must say that during this trip I have not whipped out my camera as much as I have in the past. I am sure I will regret it later when I try and scrap it all.

Poor Dale...he is thinning out so much on top that he needed to get a hat...his head was soooo stinking sun burned! (He is holding my wine...old coffee cup trick I use while sitting on the bay!)

This lovely seal came within a few feet of my neice, Carolyne, who was swimming. Then, he jumped up on the dock right by us and took a nap.

Tomorrow is our last full day. It has gone by SOOO quickly.

It has been a scorcher here in S.Ca, so it has been wonderful to be on the coast this week. Hope you are staying cool where ever you are!

Good Laugh

Today has been a stressful, yet fun day. I have been busy planning for Maddi's trip to Vegas (leaves tomorrow), Steph's move in day (5 weeks away) and my two upcoming trips. In addition, tomorrow night Dale and I are hosting a blind date dinner party for one of his buddies, and one of my teacher friends. I am so stinking excited and nervous about it! While preparing some of the food for tomorrow, Emily excitedly came in wiggling a tooth.

After acknowledging her in quick fashion, I sent her on her way.

A half hour ago Emily and Connor came screaming down the stairs.

Apparently, while banished upstairs to the playroom, Emily told Connor to hit her in the face. She wanted the tooth fairy to come tonight.

Punch to the face successful. We have a bleeder.

Now off to find quarters and pixie dust.

Paradise

Truly the best part of the cruise was our port of call...Cabo San Lucas. We paid to go on an excursion to a luxury resort on the beach. Once at the resort they were giving us a tour of the grounds when we looked inside the restaurant, and THERE WERE SOME OF OUR FRIENDS from Lakewood. SMALL World!!! I met the mom when we took Lamaze with our first kids almost 19 years ago! Anyway, here are some photos of us on the ship, as well as at Cabo!
