Where to begin??? I can't believe my last posting was almost nine months ago. When I had written that last blog post, I had just been hired to sub for our local school district. I had been warned that it would probably be at least a couple months before I would get a single job, as teachers generally didn't call in sick right away. However, by the third day of school I had a job that was to last two weeks. From there I was hired by a different district to teach RtI...to make a long story short, I have worked the entire school year.
Once I got into my rhythm teaching, I was going to start to blog THEN. But then Stephanie got hit by a car while riding her bike at USC. Then, Dale was injured at work and had to have surgery. (And, as I type this, Dale is still not back) Add that with soccer, football, basketball, Fall baseball, cheerleading, and homework, and you have a recipe for me barely making it onto the computer. In addition, I was still room mom to two kids, Art Master mom for two classes, and team mom. I would (and still do) crash into bed by 9:30 every night.
Crafts? Grocery Game? Scrapping? Baking? GONE, GONE, GONE. I have helped a friend or two when they have needed things or goodies, but that is when people beg. Or bribe. Or look completely desperate. :) However, the word NO has definitely come into my vocabulary this year.
In exciting news, I have lost 29 pounds. I can't believe it myself. For those who know me well, you will know that I hate exercise and the gym. I mostly hate the gym because I hate germs, but that has already been dealt with in another blog post. I joined WW in Feb, and started walking/jogging almost every day. I average 20 miles a week...sometimes more. I love being outside. I am fortunate that where I live there are plenty of hills to kick my booty.
In awesome family news, we have found a church EVERYONE loves. Makes my heart happy. :}
Kids are all doing great. They are all just growing up a little too quickly for me. I can't post without a couple pics, so here are some from last weekends Jr. Prom with Maddi. xoxo
P.S. Stephanie is fine. She saw that the taxi was running the stop sign and dove off her bike right before the taxi rear ended her bike. Here is the kicker though...she carries her bike BACK to her apartment, locks it up, and someone STEALS it. I keep envisioning a homeless man in downtown LA walking around with a jacked up pink Roxy bike. ha ha!
